CORRESPONDENCE COURSE FOR WRITERS
Writing in your own space and at your own pace

"Insightful & inspiring. I thoroughly enjoyed the process from start to finish. It was just the right length allowing us to do it under creative conditions. The course notes were well researched and informative. Now I know the process of scriptwriting and feel confident enough to write a script. The course is easily understood and well explained, and contact is easily made via e-mail for any questions to be answered."

The Writing Studio's Correspondence Course gives aspirant writers an opportunity to work in their own space and at their own pace.

The correspondence course is ideal for aspirant writers who:

  • ANYBODY who has a STORY to write
  • Would like to write for a visual medium: film, stage or television
  • Prefer to work in their own space and own time
  • Have never written a screenplay before and would like to explore the process
  • Would like to write a best-selling novel
  • Would like to turn that dream short story or novel into a film or TV series
  • Have written or started writing a screenplay that seem to go nowhere
  • Need guidance and deadlines to keep the writer on track during the writing process
  • Want to have feedback during the writing process and solve problems immediately

WHAT DO I NEED TO COMPLETE THE COURSE?
Other than your imagination, discipline and commitment, you need access to a computer as all the notes and correspondence will be sent via the Internet.

There are three courses.

THE WRITE VOICE - Find your voice as a writer and explore your creative talent. Ideal for writers who would like to sharpen their story skills and find out what they are capable of writing.

THE WRITE JOURNEY
- Take your first step in the write direction and explore the writing process from beginning to first ten pages. Ideal for writers who know what they want to write about and explore the writing process. Takes writers through the writing process from concept to the structuring and design of the story, plot and characters, as well as writing the story outline and top sheet.

THE WRITE DRAFT -
Writing your first draft  and get your draft ready for the marketplace. Ideal for writers who are committed to completing and writing a draft from start to finish. This advanced course guides the writers through writing the first draft. At the end of the course the completed screenplays will be submitted to The Write Agency's reading panel for evaluation, comment and recommendations to prepare the screenplay for the local and international marketplaces.

HOW DOES THE COURSE WORK?

  • Once we receive your registration form and deposit details you are ready to take a step in the write direction.
  • There are 12 UNITS in each course.
  • Comprehensive notes are sent via email.
  • You will read through the notes which include Self Activities (for you to complete in your own space and at your own pace) and Tasks (for you to complete and forward via email).
  • Once your trainer has read through your task and there are no questions pertaining to the specific unit, you commence to the next unit.

In THE WRITE DRAFT course you will be writing a professional draft from start to finish (The Write Draft course excludes the evaluation and reading of completed screenplays).
