Reminiscent of the Indiana Jones movies this is one that can be recommended to all action lovers. A civil war iron clad ship missing for two centuries and a modern day unexplained disease threatening Mali's population provide the ingredients for this all action thriller. The bonding between the two male stars has left the door open to more great adventures starring these two actors with or with the added attraction of Penelope Cruz or another female star. Highly recommended with only a PG age restriction, a movie for the whole family to enjoy. Go behind the scenes SEABISCUIT ***** From director Gary Ross ('Pleasantville') comes this outstanding true story that is indeed one of the best films of the year (2003) and recommended viewing for anyone with a heart. It tells the unusual story of how a worn-out race horse (named Sea Biscuit) drastically changes the lives of three men and restores their faith in life and living. It is one of those rare films that will alter your perception of the world and focus your attention on important little things that makes the world go round. DISASTER/ SURVIVAL ARMAGEDDON - (Two disc special edition) **** The first disc of this exciting release features the digitally remastered film as well as two commentary tracks: one featuring Michael Bay, Producer Jerry Bruckenheimer, Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck, and the second featuring cinematographer John Schwartzman, NASA consultant Dr. Joe Allen and asteroid consultant Ivan Bekey. One of the finest vessels of its kind, Poseidon stands more than 20 stories tall, boasts 800 staterooms and 13 passenger decks. HISTORICAL ADVENTURE - EPICS ALEXANDER **** Oliver Stone challenges the intellect with a complex narrative, and explores sexuality and brutal warfare unashamedly. . Harry Hamlin stars as Perseus, a mortal who, due to the interference of the mighty god Zeus (Laurence Olivier), finds himself in the city of Joppa, far away from his island home. There, he falls in love with Andromeda (Judi Bowker), an imprisoned princess. To free her, win her hand, and thus half of the kingdom, Perseus solves a riddle, but Joppa's enraged ruler orders Andromeda fed to the Kraken, a towering sea monster that's the last of the powerful Titans. In his quest to save Andromeda, Perseus must endure a series of trials with the help of the winged horse Pegasus and a friendly playwright, Ammon (Burgess Meredith). His ultimate goal is to secure the head of the grotesque Gorgon named Medusa and use it to turn the Kraken into stone, but dangers await, including the hideously deformed Calibos (Neil McCarthy). Disc 2 includes a marvellous making of documentary 'Robin Hood: Myth, Man, Movie, vintage interviews with the stars of the film, and photo galleries TROY **** In contrast to other big screen epics, where wars are fought between imaginary creatures, Troy is a battle fought between men. it is brutal combat guided by one rule: Kill or be killed. The graphic and bloody savagery is underlined by an honest humanity. It is the honesty in Petersen's brutal onslaught that gives Troy its heartbeat and emotional resonance. There's a certain diplomatic grandeur - the political mind games and egotistical power trips - that soothes the savagery.
