LAST LAUGH AT THE LYRIC January 29 & 30 The Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City Casino is once again presenting two exclusive nights of rip-roaring local comedy with the return of its wildly popular Last Laugh at The Lyric comedy show, with four of SA's best comedic superstars. The third Last Laugh comedy evening to be presented at The Lyric offers a fresh new line-up, including Loyisa Gola, Krijay Govender, Mark Banks, and audience favourite, Mark Lottering. These four hilarious comedians will have the audience in stitches with their no holds barred comic routines. Mark Lottering needs no introduction. The son of a Cape flats Pentecostal pastor, Marc's colourful upbringing is often reflected in his unique brand of comedy which has established him as a firm favourite with so many audiences. He has made countless television appearances, appeared at many major comedy festivals, and has scooped both the Fleur du Cap and Vita Theatre awards. He is well known for one-liners that hit the mark with the precision of a guided missile and for his decidedly politically incorrect take on South African life. Loyiso Gola's affinity towards openly frank and observational commentary has shaped him into one of South Africa's most talented comedians. He has been performing comedy for eight years and has graced the stages of all the major festivals and events on the local comedy calendar. Krijay Govender is a South African actress and stand-up comedienne best known for her role as publisher Jenna, Strini Pillai's former love interest, in SABC1's soapie Generations. She has become a regular audience pleaser on the South African comedy circuit since 2001. Since his first big break at the 1986 Grahamstown Festival, Mark Banks has become one of the most recognised and respected stand-up comedians of his time. In 18 years of comedy, Mark boasts at least one new one-man show each year, of which he writes and performs all the material himself. He is widely recognised for his political satire and pokes at the rich and famous; nothing and no one is safe from Mark's brand of humour. The Lyric Theatre.
